for Nick and Gabriele

Just a little bit of reality here....it can be a forever love story if you work at it.
Oh and it's okay if you don't follow their timeline!

a couple of weeks

It's been a couple of weeks and lots has been happening around here. I have been sewing and reseeding the yard and reading and organizing computer files.

Pioneer square in Portland. Did you know that you can walk all over us at the square? Yep, back in 1984 we purchased a brick and tonight we actually found it!! We finally looked up the map and arrived at the square when nothing was covering the bricks. There are 71,165 named bricks permanently placed at Pioneer Courthouse Square!

Last week we were over in the Hawthorn area and we tried to get some pics by this awesome blue wall...this is what we got when I was in the picture-
This is what we got when I stepped out-thanks Nick!
Sunday we went shopping for outfits to wear to my 50th with a 50's theme. Amy decided this was just a bit too much dress...
Maybe I should have bought the crown...
Oh and I made these yummy looking treats for Amy's sister-in-law's open house...Chocolate Stout cupcakes with Irish Cream frosting and chocolate shavings!
I am enamored with all things the Pioneer woman has to say and eat. Bought her cookbook and have tried the pork roast, pot roast, and last week her mac and cheese. This is nothing like out of a box. I even did the whole milk, extra sharp white cheddar, bacon and caramelized onions. Here is everything laid out...
and the baked version (s), I did one plain to share with Miss Amy. The response from DH? It's good...I sorta expected more enthusiasm since I went to the trouble of cooking the onions and grating cheese. Oh well, I had fun and the little taste I had was amazing!
I am loading up my little silver car and heading to the beach for a woman's retreat, be back Wednesday....

All this cuteness...

I have probably posted this before but it is too precious not to post again. Doesn't Nick look dapper?! He can only hope to look this great in July! And Amy...wearing that "this is a good smile" look in a hat too small for her permed curls-so sorry sweetie!
All this cuteness...
sitting in a box...

guess I should have gotten them out of the box...

but I just didn't get around to it!!

The good thing in all this...now I don't have to put them away!

Happy Easter to my favorite chicks!!
thanks for stopping by...
